Fire Extinguisher Training

Fire Extinguisher Training

Why Provide Fire Extinguisher Training?

Fire extinguishers are everywhere in Vancouver buildings. We see them in businesses, in our friends’ home, at our office, in movies and on TV. They’re so familiar to us, yet not everyone knows how to use one properly in an the event of a small fire!

Glancing over the INSTRUCTIONS on the side of a cylinder just can’t prepare us to take real action when a fire breaks out.  That’s why Community Fire Prevention offers expert training in proper extinguisher use with BullEx simulators

3-Tiered Program

The first time a person operates a fire extinguisher should never be at the time of an emergency. At Community Fire, we offer a 3-tiered training program to educate your group on proper use of extinguishers, to prepare them if a fire breaks out. Our expert instructors teach with 3 key methods:

1. Hands-on

Hands-on training with a portable fire extinguisher demonstrates the proper use and technique.

2. Live-fire

BullEx Intelligent Training System live-fire extinguisher training uses a controlled, propane-based fire to prepare your group for putting out flames.

3. Laser-Driven

BullEx BullsEye Laser-Driven fire extinguisher training makes it easy to train more people on extinguishing techniques in less time, without the mess.

Community Fire Prevention & BullEx

Like Community Fire Prevention, BullEx is a company dedicated to improving the life-safety conditions of workplaces. Both our companies utilize premium products to offer the best safety experience possible, which is why we chose to use their simulators for our training classes.

Premium BullEx fire simulators create less mess and little clean up, compared to antiquated methods, allowing more group members to train with our instructors and thereby making more people fire-safe.

With both the BullEx Intelligent Training System, and the BullEx BullsEye Laser Driven fire extinguisher, a trainee experiences what a real fire feels like, and practices proper extinguisher techniques on a real or digital blaze.

Dry Chemical Extinguishers and Co2

We use a mixture of Dry Chemical Extinguishers and Co2 Extinguishers so the users can see and feel the difference between discharge times and patterns. This way, participants learn the limitations of a fire extinguisher, so they can make safe, educated extinguisher decisions during an actual emergency.

Certified Instructors

Our professional training is built for you. Presentations are tailored for your company, with trained professionals instructing the courses to ensure you get the most thorough and safe program possible. Community Fire Instructors are either certified ASTTBC Fire Protection Registered Technicians or former career Fire Fighters with first-hand, real world experience.

What to Expect

So what will your group get from training with Community Fire? All participants will learn the limitations of different kinds of fire extinguishers. The instructors will discuss fire safety that your group can apply at home and in the workplace. Sessions include specific site awareness tours, with a guided walk-through of your facility to describe potential hazards and escape routes. You then have the option to allow your group to physically operate a portable fire extinguisher during the presentation, for an additional re-filling fee.
